Toyota Gazoo Racing launches their all-new GR010 Hybrid Hypercar.

Due to compete in the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship.

A new era of endurance racing.

Developed during the last 18 months, the new GR010 Hybrid Le Mans Hypercar with new Racing Hybrid colours will be used by Toyota Gazoo Racing to try and defend their World Championship title.

The GR010 is a prototype, which has been created in partnership between the engineering team in Cologne, Germany, and the experts in electric hybrid technology at Higashi Fuji in Japan. The car features an impressively powerful racing hybrid powertrain with all-wheel drive, a 3.5-litre twin-turbo engine and total power output of 671bhp. The power output actually had to be capped at that number due to the nature of the electronics, so it didn't disturb the distribution of power being deployed.

To mark the new era for Toyota Gazoo Racing, the Hypercar has taken inspiration from the GR Super Sport hypercar, bearing a new exterior design which includes the GR lettering - linking the road and race cars together.

Toyota has the advantage of having the same they did last season including, Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maris Lopez, Sebastien Buemi, Kazuki Nakajima and Brendon Hartley. That being said, changes in the regulations is set to make the competition tighter than the team may have expected.

A cost-reduction initiative along with race-by-race balance performance means that the cars will be slower than previous years, with all Hypercars having a more equal footing when racing.

The season is set to start on 19th March with the 1,000 mile Sebring race, followed by Spa-Francorchamps on 1st May, the highlight of the season - Le Mans between 12-13th June.
